-Translator's Notes (Translation 2)-

As usual, other than the actual Japanese -> English notes, all other thoughts expressed are my interpretation.

In English, 'hidamari' is basically a sunny spot/place. Here, I think it's meant to be in stark contrast to the coldness of the season. All of these good qualities (she) has, a sweet voice, innocent face, etc., make him happy and are like a warm spot on a cold winter's day.

Tecnically, the first line would be 'I want to protect you forever in my arms' because of 'boku no ude no naka de' (literally, in my arms). I chose to create a more romantic image since I felt it fit better with the mood of the song and the images it evokes. Also, the last line doesn't really go into English so smoothly as is. More literally, it would be 'I felt this mild/soft time shake my heart.' For the sake of pretty word imagery, it became the line you see above ^^;;;

In the first line, there's some word/kanji play going on. The kanji used is 未来 (mirai) which means 'future.' However, the word spoken is 'asu' (明日） which means 'tomorrow.' I think the implication is that they'll be together not just for tomorrow, but all the tomorrows to come, and translated accordingly. Also, the second line is more literally 'I feel we can paint them together' but the idea is definitely one of creation. Japanese song lyrics tend to use 'egaku' (to paint) a lot, and often in ways that are rather 'o.O' in English ^^;;;

Here, I chose a not-so-common translation of 'omoi.' Usually, 'omoi' will be translated as 'feeling(s)' or 'thought(s).' To be blunt, in this verse, saying 'bound our feelings together' just doesn't sound as pretty as using 'hearts.' Technically, 'omoi' can even be mind (but it very rarely is). I felt using 'heart' kept with the mood of the song and would better convey the mood/feeling here to non-Japanese speaking listeners/readers.

The phrase 'awai koi' is used here. I chose to leave it rather literal as 'faint/mild love.' However, I think it usually implies young love, perhaps even a first love. And of course, they just have to throw in another kanji/word play into the very last line XD They use the kanji　詩 (uta), which means poem, in a place where once would expect to see 歌 (uta), which means song. I think the idea is that these words are meant to be only for her/one person special person, much like when one writes a poem for someone.
